Today would have been Rosa Parks’ 100th birthday.
She refused to accept that her worth was somehow less than another person’s because of the color of her skin. So, she said she wouldn’t give up her seat. African Americans and their allies took to the streets, boycotting the buses, riots occurred, and her actions changed this country forever.
Rosa Parks wasn’t rich. She wasn’t powerful (by other people’s measures). She was just a woman who believed she was equal.
We need more people like Rosa Parks in this world. The best part is that to be like her, you just have to figure out what you believe in and be willing to accept nothing less. Conviction.
So get to it. What are you waiting for?
